We moved house about five and a half years ago, and the garage at the new place was chaos within weeks. Rather than buy one flimsy unit and regret it, we decided to invest in a long term solution. What it's actually been like, five and a half years in
No sagging, no wobble, nothing to report beyond doing exactly what it was built to do. Assembly was genuinely easy, boltless, tap-together with a rubber mallet, and quick enough that six units didn't turn into a weekend-long job. In the old garage we tried to keep it properly categorised, household overflow like kitchen roll and cleaning supplies, decorating things, kids' outdoor toys, outdoor sofa cushions stored over winter, tools, gardening kit. It never quite stayed that tidy in practice, but the shelving itself never minded what ended up where.

The one thing worth knowing before buying
This isn't decorative shelving dressed up for a utility room, it's industrial-grade and looks it, powder-coated steel with a genuinely serious weight rating. We do genuinely like the blue though, it's a small thing but it makes a purely functional purchase feel slightly less grim to look at. If you want something that looks like garage shelving and behaves like garage shelving, this is it. If you're after something that looks considered on display, it isn't.
Was it worth it?
We're honestly not certain of the exact figure now, six sets in one go felt like a fair investment at the time rather than a small purchase. Five and a half years on, with zero wear and not a single unit needing replacing, it's held up well enough that the actual number has stopped mattering.
The next chapter
This house has no garage, so it's just moved into the cellar instead, down a flight of steps that meant taking the whole thing apart first. We were genuinely a little worried it wouldn't dismantle and travel well after five and a half years in place, but it went back together just as easily the second time. Still being sorted properly down there, but it's already proved twice now that it survives a move without missing a beat.
